The Kalich House, a historic 1890s Texas-Czech farmhouse, was donated by Jonathon and Peggy Kalich in memory of their parents and relocated to the Heritage Center in 2000. Originally from near Freyburg, Texas, the house symbolizes the progress and cultural endurance of Texas-Czech immigrants. After serving as the Visitors’ Center, it was transformed into the Czech Music Museum of Texas in 2012.

The museum is divided into four distinct rooms, each dedicated to a major genre of Czech music: Classical music of Czech composers, Spiritual and Liturgical music, Folk music and dance, and Polka/Czech Brass music. Each room is thoughtfully decorated with period-appropriate costumes, musical instruments, and memorabilia donated by members and friends, offering visitors a rich sensory experience of Czech musical traditions.

The museum highlights the vital role music has played in the cultural fabric of Czech-Texan life, serving as a source of joy, identity, and community connection for generations. It also hosts special events and performances, keeping the musical heritage alive and vibrant for members and visitors alike.
