Celebrate Czech Heritage at Heritage Fest & Muziky 2026

Mark your calendars and join the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center for Heritage Fest & Muziky on Friday and Saturday, October 16–17, 2026, in La Grange.

Heritage Fest & Muziky is one of the Center’s signature annual celebrations, bringing together families, musicians, historians, artisans, exhibitors and visitors from across Texas for two days filled with Czech music, food, history and cultural traditions.

The celebration begins Friday afternoon with Oktoberfest on the Deck featuring the Dujka Brothers. Guests can enjoy live music, Czech hospitality and a relaxed evening on the Center’s beautiful campus.

Saturday offers a full day of activities throughout the grounds, including live music by Czech and Then Some and Lost Cause, Czech Village tours, traditional demonstrations, competitions, museum exhibits and family-friendly activities. The festival concludes Saturday evening with A Tribute to Harry Czarnek and the Texas Dutchmen Legendary Orchestra at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater.

Experience Czech History and Culture

Heritage Fest is much more than a music festival. Educational demonstrations and hands-on activities give visitors an opportunity to learn about the skills, traditions and everyday lives of Czech immigrants and their descendants in Texas.

Visitors can watch the historic Zapalac Sawmill in operation, explore the Texas Czech Newspaper Museum, observe antique agricultural equipment and learn about traditional activities such as corn grinding, peanut threshing and hay baling.

The Czech Village and museum will also be open for tours. Guests are encouraged to visit the special museum exhibition, “250 Years of Czech American Legacy,” which recognizes the contributions of Czech Americans as the United States commemorates its 250th anniversary.

Additional attractions include the KJT State Taroky Tournament, a classic and antique car show, blacksmith demonstrations, activities with the Czech Heritage Society of Texas queens, Czech–Slovak bingo, perníčky decorating, a koláče eating contest and a stein-holding competition.

Traditional Czech food, koláče and refreshments will be available during the festival, along with vendors and exhibitors from throughout the region.
